EFFIEŽ Awards Introduce New Requirements and New Category for 2005 Competition
New York, NY September 12, 2004 -- The New York American Marketing Association has revised the requirements for the 2005 EFFIE Awards allowing Internet advertising campaigns to enter. The new rules treat Internet advertising as an above the line medium, therefore making Internet-only campaigns or campaigns where internet advertising was the primary driver of results, eligible for an award in over 50 categories.
In addition, EFFIE 2005 introduces a new specialty category, Integrated Marketing Communications, for campaigns that have utilized multiple communication channels to effectively deliver a brand's message. These campaigns must have utilized a marketing mix that encompassed at least three or more communication channels. Entrants will be required to demonstrate how each individual channel met campaign and brand objectives, and how they were strategically linked together.
The entry deadline for the 2005 competition is Friday, October 22, 2004, 3 P.M. (EST) Applicants can download the 2005 Call for Entry form for all categories and can enter their campaigns online at www.effie.org.
The special entry deadline date for the Integrated Marketing Communications category only is November 5, 2004.
Introduced by the New York American Marketing Association in 1968, The EFFIE Awards - the only national competition that judges advertising effectiveness - has since become recognized by agencies and advertisers as the pre-eminent award in the advertising industry. EFFIE Awards are now given in 30 countries worldwide. For more details, visit www.effie.org.
